TREES CANNOT BE REMOVED WITHOUT A PERMIT FOR ANY REASON. EVEN DEAD TREES!
In an emergency, please notify village hall BEFORE you take the tree down. Send pictures to clerk@roslynharbor.org.

A safe, wholesome, attractive environment is declared to be of importance to the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the Village of Roslyn Harbor, and, in addition, such an environment is deemed essential to the maintenance and continued development of the ecology and well-being of the Village and the general welfare of its citizens. To ensure this legacy for current and future residents, the Village has implemented a Tree Preservation and Protection Ordinance that is governed by Chapter 251 of Village Code. The Tree Law requires that removal of trees on private property follow prescribed procedures, based on a tree’s diameter in inches, and that removal of certain trees may require replanting of new trees.

The Village has a volunteer Tree Committee whose primary responsibilities are to: maintain the Village’s treed environment, provide information to residents about their trees, facilitate Tree Law compliance, and document the removals and new plantings of trees on both public and private property. Please call Village Hall at (516) 621-0368 or email admin@roslynharbor.org with any questions.
